The foundation for Mary Elizabeth’s Hospital

Børneriget Fonden supports
Mary Elizabeth's Hospital in becoming the world's best children's hospital.

Denmark's new national children's hospital will provide highly spezialized treatment for children, teens and pregnant women from all over Denmark.

The hospital is named Mary Elizabeth’s Hospital after Mary Elizabeth, Her Majesty The Queen of Denmark, and the goal is clear: to set new standards for treatment and revolutionize the experience for children, teens, pregnant women and their relatives before, during and after treatment.

When Mary Elizabeth's Hospital opens in 2027, families from all over Denmark will receive highly specialized treatment and experience an unprecedented level of ambition in pediatric and youth care.

Heartspace: Designing a Healing Hospital

From January 21st, you can experience the exhibition about the children's hospital of the future at Designmuseum Danmark.

At the exhibition you will get a unique insight into the unique public-private partnership between Ole Kirk's Fond, Region Hovedstaden and Rigshospitalet, which together set new standards for the treatment of seriously ill children.

The exhibition fits perfectly into the historic setting where Denmark's first public hospital – The Royal Frederik's Hospital was built by Frederik V in 1757.
