The Hospital School

When children are hospitalized, their lives are put on hold. They risk falling behind both academically and socially. The hospital school at Mary Elizabeth's Hospital offers playful learning facilities and a mobile school program

A playful way of learning

It is crucial for the development and well-being of children and teens that they can stay in school during hospitalization. The school at Mary Elizabeth's Hospital offers educational and playful learning facilities, as well as a mobile and digital offer for children who are unable to leave their beds.

The new hospital school at Mary Elizabeth’s Hospital is centrally located on the 7th floor, close to the pediatric wards. Its modern facilities and innovative approach enable more hospitalized children and teens to participate, including those who must remain in isolation, through a creative and mobile learning concept.

“Our support for the Foundation for Mary Elizabeth's Hospital is an investment in children's lives and futures.”

The social element of the school

Making up for learning lost due to illness can be challenging. In addition, being excluded from the everyday life that school represents may intensify feelings of loneliness and difference.
The hospital school is grounded in a holistic vision that places the whole person at the center and supports the well-being of the entire family. For this reason, it incorporates not only academic instruction but also the social dimension that children and young people gain from attending school.

The hospital school is financed in collaboration with Frececo.
